| More than 15,000 people attend the closing ceremony of the Dhour El Choueir Emigrants Festival 2010
Dhour Choueir - 15 August, 2010. More than 15,000 people attended the closing ceremony of the Dhour El Choueir Emigrants Festival 2010 held on August 15th. Famous Lebanese singer Assi Al Hallani gave a spectacular performance, making it the largest event of the festival.
Hallani captivated the audience with a bouquet of his most famous songs including "Libani”, “Al Hawa Tayer Tayer”, “Ya Reytni Ana Wala Inti”, “Jan Jnouni”, “Ya Maymi”, and “Baroudati”. His fans were gripped when he sang “Ghabet Shams El Hak” by Lebanese Diva Julia Boutros, who was also present during the concert, adding to the warmth of this very patriotic evening. The remarkable Lebanese National Dabka Troupe accompanying Hallani added to the evening’s excitement, giving it a touch of nostalgia for our heritage and traditions. The closing ceremony was filled with mesmerizing fireworks, dancing and singing, an atmosphere like no other.
Hallani expressed his admiration for the ceremony and stated that it was one of the most beautiful concerts of his career. In his turn, Mayor Elias Bou Saab commented: “Assi is one of the best artists of our time, he has a beautiful voice and his songs are meaningful, which has earned him great respect as an artist not only in Choueir but in Lebanon and the Arab world. There is no doubt that his presence at the Festival brought a special sparkle”.
Mayor Elias Bou Saab concluded: “The municipality is keen on remaining a town leader in hospitality and tourism, and adding this festival to the list of annual festivals that adorn Lebanon every summer”. | |
